First in action were our 13's playing Summerville in a league encounter at the Fairgreen.
It was 1-1 at half time with K. O'Connell netting for the 'view. The second half say Summerville take the lead, but a good comeback by Fairview say K. Rainsford equalise before T. Daly completed the comeback when he netted, what proved to be the winner.
The second match, also at home saw our 15's "A" team entertain Caherdavin, also in the league.
Losing 1-0 at the short whistle, things swung our way in the second half, with goals from M. Long and R. Meagher (both of whom are featuring regularly on the scoresheet) sealing the win in what must be said, trying conditions, it being the second match on the pitch.
Best on the day, outside of the scorere, were N. O'Connor, G. O'Connor, D. Lowe and C. Keogh.
So to Sunday morning with our Premier team playing Corbally in a league match at home.
Three of the team squad left for pastures new, all three signing for Athlone Town in the league of Ireland.
All at the club would like to wish Tommy Barrett, Bobby Tier and Paul Danagher the best of luck with their new club, and thank them for all their efforts in this and indeed previous seasons.
Both Tommy and Paul picked up FAI winners medals last year, and Bobby was having a tremendous season thus far, in what was his second stint at the club.
The match itself was an entertaining affair, considering the conditions with Corbally taking the lead on 25 mins only for john Grant to restore parity on the half hour.
Fairview took the lead on 55 minutes when Darren Harrington scored a cracking goal, and James Hayes, introduced on 70 minutes, sealed the win with 15 to go.
Best on the day for Fairview were Ian Bennis in goal, rolling back the years with an assured performance, Gavin O'SHea, James Hayes whose pace caused Corbally no end of problems on his introduction, and Pat McGarry.
Also to the fore were underage players Colin Daly and Aaron Cooney, who fitted in seamlessly when introduced, and it was also great to see another two underage players, Shane Power and Derek O'Hanlon in the panel, which will give the management a welcome headache for the remainder of the season.
Our "B" team were also in action at home on Sunday morning, playing Caherdavin in the league. The pitch took an almight hammering with three games in two days, however both teams still managed to play some good football throughout.
Caherdavin took the lead, with Wayne Lee equalising only for Caherdavin to score late on to secure victory. Yet again we had more of our underage players involved, and from a clubs point of view, it's great to see so many homegrown players stepping up to Junior level.
Our Lotto continues on Thursday nights and our next "100 club" draw takes place on Thursday the 24th February.
Once again, thanks for all your support.
